Customer reviewsGreat addition for SUP
While my phone itself is probably loud enough for the SUP I still wanted a speaker especially for when it was more than just me out. Temps here have been over 100 so wanted something that would withstand the heat and water. I also have the Aquamasti but it s larger, the loop to be able to clip it onto the board is a little small, and I wasn t sure if it would hold up as well to the water if the board flips, waves come over, etc. The Tire has a better water rating so decided to try. I ve only taken it out once so these are just first impressions. I stream music from my phone in a waterproof aquapac which is worn from my neck, to the speaker near the front end of board. I wasn t sure how the sound would be at only 5 watts but it s plenty loud for this purpose and clear. I live in an area of the lake that is typically not as busy but I can see where if there are a lot of loud boats around, the sound may not be adequate. I did use a stronger clip to hook it to the bungee of the board, and attached a floating mini-buoy meant for keys in case it did go overboard. Water exposure on this first trip was minimal, just the usual splash as I switched the paddle from one side to the other. There were a couple of instances from waves where a little water washed onto the board and got the bottom of the speaker wet as well. None of it affected the sound or disrupted the music. I had it out for 2 hrs and the only time the music stopped was because my phone got hot and in turn stopped some things from running. Will update if I run into any issues on future trips. Plan to take on the jetski as well since it s small enough to fit into the little compartment in front of me.
